Every gift has a story. Here are a few of the stories behind the generosity that keeps Hope going.

Dear Dr. Childs, 

We are planning a Memorial Golf Tournament for my late father, Chief Charles Ritzel.  

My dad was diagnosed with a very rare and inoperable bile duct cancer.  At the time of diagnosis, he was given 6-8 weeks to live.  This was right before HopeMusicFest 2021.  The timing and correlation to Hope Music Fest gave me the strength and HOPE to support him during his battle.  Fortunately he was able to fight for almost 3 years!  This time gave me and my three children the opportunity to make many happy memories.  

My mother and I would like to donate the 100% proceeds that we raise to the Hope Music Fest mission.  

Originally I intended to create a scholarship fund in my father's name, but as I wrote the tournament description, I felt compelled to do something even more impactful.  The tournament falls just one week before Hope Music Fest and it just feels right. My father was fortunate to have very good insurance and the means to fight, I know he would want to share his privilege with others.
